Wendy Alva

Wendy Alva is a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in both Pediatrics and Psychiatric Mental Health. She joined Sycuan Health Center in 2023 and brings over 15 years of experience in pediatric healthcare. Wendy earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Science and Pediatric Primary Care from the University of San Diego and completed a Post-Master’s program in Psychiatric Mental Health at the University of Cincinnati.

Wendy’s career spans a range of clinical settings, including pediatric neurology, with a strong focus on diagnosing and managing autism spectrum disorder. She has held hospital privileges at Scripps Mercy, where she was recognized for her exemplary care of newborns and collaboration with care teams. Board-certified in both Pediatric and Psychiatric Mental Health, Wendy provides comprehensive care to patients from newborns to 18 years old.

At Sycuan Health Center, Wendy finds joy in the supportive, collaborative environment and values the opportunity to build lasting relationships with families. She is continually inspired by the resilience of children and finds fulfillment in helping them thrive.

Outside of work, Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She has a passion for music, loves cooking, and embraces the outdoors whenever possible.
