Sycuan Health Center proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new location with a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 19, 2025, at its El Cajon campus. Community members, partners, and local leaders gathered for a morning program that included welcoming remarks from Chairman Cody J. Martinez, a blessing by Elder and Councilman Jamie LaBrake, cultural bird singers, and remarks from SHC Executive Director Maurice Smith.
The event also featured the presentation of proclamations from state and county representatives, a commemorative plaque presentation, and the official ribbon cutting, followed by guided tours of the new facility. The celebration marked an important milestone in Sycuan Health Center’s ongoing mission to improve the health and well-being of Native American and culturally diverse communities.
